What's Happening
- Update on immigration matters: Since the Council is in the diasporan coalition, a recommendation has been submitted that it is not good for the Council to 4ward with any proposal with the govt now as extensive work has been done. So far the issue is right to citizenship and not abode. A constitution is being drafted in the interest of all returnees for them to be accorded the right to citizenship. A meeting is scheduled in Cape Coast on the 17th May 2011 by the coalition bodies.
- Plans to follow up with Ministry of Tourism
- Preparations underway for emancipation/panafest event
- Plans to meet with Mr Afortey @ the presidency office
- Planned programme for tertiary institution interaction between the Rastafari Council and the students to education them about Rastafari spirituality, education,health, economics, agriculture i.e letting them have an overview of Rastafari
- Plans to do a documentary about Rastafari in Ghana and a documentary committee was set up comprising of Bosco,Khex,Aswad,Antwi and fire(art center).
